Your privacy is our priority.
Chronoid is designed with privacy at its core. We do not track, collect, or store any of your personal data.

Data Collection
What We Don't Collect
We believe in complete privacy. Here's what we never collect:
- Personal information
- Activity or usage patterns
- Time tracking data
- Analytics or tracking cookies
- Data shared with third parties for marketing
Error Monitoring and Crash Reporting
Starting from version 1.0.42, Chronoid includes optional Sentry integration for error monitoring and crash reporting to improve app stability. This feature is disabled by default and requires your explicit consent to enable:
- Opt-in only: Sentry analytics is turned off by default and must be manually enabled in app settings
- What we collect: Error logs, crash reports, and performance metrics when the app encounters issues (only if enabled)
- Third-party service: This data is processed by Sentry.io, please refer to Sentry's Privacy Policy for their data handling practices
This error monitoring is completely optional and only activated when you choose to enable it in the application settings. No personal or tracking data is ever included in these reports.
Website Analytics
This website uses PostHog for web analytics to help us understand how visitors use our site and improve user experience:
- Website only: Analytics are only collected on this landing page website, not in the Chronoid app itself
- What we collect: Page views, user interactions, and general usage patterns on the website (no personal information)
- Third-party service: This data is processed by PostHog, please refer to PostHog's Privacy Policy for their data handling practices
This analytics data helps us improve the website experience and is completely separate from the Chronoid application, which remains privacy-focused and local-only.

All data generated by Chronoid is stored locally on your Mac:
- Time tracking data: Saved in a local SQLite database

- Complete control: All data remains under your complete control
- Easy deletion: You can delete all data at any time by removing the application

When using the AI chat feature with cloud services:
- Your messages are sent directly to your chosen AI service provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- Chronoid does not store, log, or have access to your chat conversations
- The communication happens directly between your device and the AI service
- You use your own API keys, maintaining full control over your AI service relationship
Please refer to your AI service provider's privacy policy for their data handling practices
Automatic Updates
Chronoid uses Sparkle framework for automatic updates:
- Update checks only verify the latest version number
- No personal information is transmitted during update checks
- Updates can be disabled in application preferences
Permissions
Chronoid requires certain system permissions to function:
- Accessibility: To detect active applications and window titles
- Launch at Login: Optional permission for automatic startup
These permissions are used solely for the app's time tracking functionality and the data never leaves your device.
